Palabras interrogativas
Las palabras interrogativas – question words – se utilizan para hacer preguntas de información en inglés. Las preguntas de información son distintas a las preguntas sencillas que tienen una respuesta positiva o negativa – respuestas a preguntas como sí o no.
A continuación se muestra una clasificación de las palabras interrogativas para una mejor comprensión en su manejo.
Ø Primer grupo.
What? ¿Qué?, ¿Cuál?, ¿Cuáles?
Where? ¿Dónde?
What time? ¿Qué hora?
When? ¿Cuándo?
Why? ¿Por qué?
How? ¿Cómo?
How far? ¿A que distancia?
How long? ¿Cuánto tiempo?
How much? ¿Cuánto?
How often? ¿Cada cuanto?
Las palabras interrogativas de arriba son usadas en la siguiente forma gramatical:

Por un lado, considere que la palabra interrogativa how puede ir con otros adjetivos y formar otros question words – how old?, how big?, etc. Por otro lado, considere también que what puede ir con otros sustantivos y formar varios otros question words – What color?, What size?, etc.

2. Our English class was at 8 o'clock.
What time was our English class?
3. Tony plays tennis in the park every morning.
Where does Tony play tennis every morning?

Es importante mencionar que después del objeto gramatical – OBJECT – el orden de los elementos es similar a los del primer grupo.

Haga preguntas usando palabras interrogativas – questions words. Para estudiantes principiantes se aconseja, en un inicio hasta su familiarización, formular la pregunta en la lengua materna – español – para después llevarlo al idioma inglés. No es necesario escribir la traducción de la pregunta.
